A few rules for an effective assembling of the bathroom flooring

Bathroom flooring is very important for your comfort and is not desirable to always have problems because of it.

When you assemble the bathroom flooring it is good to have in mind the following things:

– You will need to use a waterproof adhesive in the areas that are near to the tub or to the shower. Remember that the water can reach to the adhesive and produce condensation.

– It is mandatory to buy more tiles than you think you need. The best compromise between cost and benefit is to take 15-20% more than you measured. This amount will be enough if you do not properly calculate, and some of them are broken or they are not cut well.

– You should clean carefully the surface on which you will assemble the bathroom flooring, otherwise it increases the possibility of not putting it in the right way.

– You can skip this step if you assemble the bathroom flooring over other one that already exist, but you still have to thoroughly wash and dry it well.

– Before you assemble the bathroom flooring make sure that the adhesive has horizontal ridges. This will help to level the floor easier, through flattening the ridges.

– The plinth is a kind of rod that is attached to the wall temporarily during the assembling of the bathroom flooring. You should use two, one vertical and one horizontal to make sure that the floor is assembled right. These are useful also for measurement. You can put tiles side by side and then mark on the plinth. In this way you will realize if you are wrong.

– You might think that adding adhesive in the corners is a good thing. But when it dries, it shrinks, and then it contributes to the chances of floor to crack.

– If you do not leave equal spaces between the tiles that will form the floor, they will be more likely to detach. You can do this by using a special device to measure. After you assemble the new bathroom flooring it is better to leave at least one day before entering the bathroom so that it can dry enough.

– You have to finish the floor step-by-step and remove the excess not to be hard at the end. It is best to do this during the work, because in the end you will have just what it is on surface.

– If you do not seal very well above the bathtub, the water could leak and this, in time, can affect the bathroom flooring.

It is better to be careful during work than to have a long period with only complaints and problems.
