How to thermo-insulate properly an attic?

The thermo-insulation of the attic is wrong if there is no ventilation. The mistake is the following one: if under cover or in the space between the insulation and the roof, air does not circulate, then in summer the temperatures become unbearable in the attic. The theory is very simple: the hot air from the area between the insulation and the roof must circulate to refresh.

Also, in winter can occur the moisture that leads to mould. For this reason, the thermal insulation must be ventilated. The ventilation is done by special vents.

If the ceiling is parallel to the slope of the roof, you should be careful to ventilate the space between the thermo-insulation and the deck. If the ceiling is horizontal, with the insulation assembled also horizontally, over it, there isa ventilated space between the thermo-insulated ceiling and the deck, namely the so-called loft.
