How to assemble the bathroom floors?

The bathroom floor is very important for your comfort and it is undesirable to always have problems because of it.

When you assemble the bathroom floor it is good to keep in mind the following aspects:

– You will need to use a waterproof adhesive in the areas near the bathtub or the shower cabin. Do not forget that the water can reach to the adhesive also as condense.

– It is mandatory to buy more tiles than you think you need. The best compromise between cost and utility is to buy with 15-20% more than you measured. This quantity is enough in the case in which you did not calculate right, some of them break or they are not properly cut.

– You have to clean carefully the surface on which the tiles will be glued, otherwise the possibility of putting them in a wrong way increases.

– You can skip this step if you assemble over the already existing floor. However you still have to wipe it carefully and then to dry it well.

– Before you put the tiles make sure that the adhesive has horizontal crests. This detail will help to level the tiles easier, by flattening the crests.

– The skirting board is some kind of a rod which has to be temporarily attached to the wall during the floor assembling. You should use two, one vertical and one horizontal in order to be sure that the tiles are placed properly. These are also useful for measurement. You can arrange the tiles one near the other and then mark on the plinth.  In this way you can realize if you are mistaking.

– You could believe that adding adhesive in the corners is a good thing but when it dries the adhesive shrinks, increasing the chances of the tiles to crack.

– If you do not leave an equal space between the tiles which will compose the floor these will be more prone to detach. You can do this thing by using a special measurement device. After you assembled the new floor it is good to wait at least one day before you go into the bathroom in order to let it dry enough.

– You have to finish the floor by turns and to remove the access so that it will not be hard in the end. The best way to do this thing is during the process, so that in the end it will only remain what it is on the surface.

– If you do not seal the floor properly with the top part of the bathtub water may leak and in time to affect the floor.

It is better to be careful during the process than to have a long period of only dissatisfaction and problems.
