How the wall colors affect the mood
The colors play a very important role in our lives, in people lives, without being aware of it. Beside that due to them we choose some clothes or choose to paint a wall in a certain color, they act significantly on the mood of each of us.
You will ask me: how? It is very simple: we take an example of the blue color, the color of sea and sky. What mood you have when you sit on the seaside and look at it or when you look at the sky? Quiet. Calm. That happens with a piece of furniture or a wall in the same color, it instill you a calm feeling. But the feeling of tranquility depends on the shade of blue as the light blue or the pale one gives you the impression of coldness. Good … that being said let’s take a few colors, to see what moods provide you and how it influences our mood.
Red is the color of passion and love, but used for interior design can induce a large quantity of energy in the mood, not exactly pleasant: increase the heart rate, increases the blood pressure, increases the adrenaline. It is preferable that the living and dining room to be decorated with red pieces of furniture or to be painted with red, because they are areas of day. To remember! Red is not suitable for people who anger easily or are unstable emotionally.
Yellow is a warm color that gives us the thought of the sun, to the heat, in conclusion it may have an antidepressant effect on the human condition. In the same way it should be taken into account in what amounts we bring the yellow in the living space and what colors we use, because it can become tiring after a certain period. It is recommended to put furniture pieces or decorations (pillows, curtains, etc.) in yellow color in the rooms for children to enhance their creativity and develop their imagination, it is said that can increase the concentration and memory capacity.
Green instills a balance to the space. It is the color that we see often in nature, breathe fresh, calm and relaxation. Among the beneficial effects on the mood we rediscover that it reduces the tension, inducing a meditative and quiet mood. It also helps for stimulating the creativity.
Blue. As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, it depends a lot on the chosen shade in the living space because it can induce a mood of cold, and calm and relaxation. Blue is used mainly in the minimalist style, which means that this style is sober, with few pieces of furniture, giving a touch of elegance and coldness to the space. It is used for painting the small corridors and hallways just to create spaciousness.
White is the most neutral color symbolizing purity and having a calming effect on people’s inner mood. Besides all this, you can combine it with any other color without the fear that you will fail in your living space. And it also helps to create a larger space.
Orange I believe that it is the most intense colour of all the others that we have presented above, because it was born from the combination of strong colors (red and yellow). In terms of mood, it brings benefits, namely: is recommended for people under stress or unhappy because it instills kindness and perseverance; is not recommended for gourmand people because it increases the appetite.
In conclusion, the colors are very important and they have a positive or negative impact on the mood. They are carefully studied before being assigned to a piece of furniture, a label or an advertisement. Why? Because it helps in the selection process of a particular product. And do you know what is the funny thing? That you do not even realize. Homework: Think about foods or products that you have bought lately. Which labels they had? What feeling they produced you before you bought them?
